Toddler Belt Tutorial

Good morning ladies! I friend of mine presented me with a little tiny {literally} issue she was having. Her skinny-minny daughter is tall, skinny & has some falling down britches.

I thought it over & here is what I came up with for her. I figured I'd share because surely she isn't the only momma with this little problem.

I picked this skinny adult belt up at a local thrift store for $1.

You will also need a drill & drill bit, measuring tape & scissors.

Measure your little ones waist. D's was 18", and add 3 inches to the total. Cut to length.

Mark your 18" spot and also one at 19" for growth.  Drill holes.

Voila!

Typical.

Where in the world is the Birdie Baby accessory?

Hey there Birdie Baby Boutique friends!!!  I hope you are ready to take a little trip with us!  Its time to play "Where in the World is the Birdie Baby accessory"!!!!  Here is how to play.

Before you play you need to be sure that you have become a follower of Birdie Baby's blog as well as gone to FB and "liked" her page.

I will give you clues and a picture of the location we are in.  You may already know the answer or you may need to get online and look up some of the clues, i suggest that you check all of the clues to be sure you have the right city, even if you think you know.  Once you have discovered the CITY submit your answer along with either your paypal, email, or full name in the comment center of the blog, NOT ON FB (we only ask for this information to have a way to contact the winner).  All of the correct answers will be put into a random drawing, and one lucky winner will receive a $5 gift certificate for BBB. Our city is always buzzing with activity, even as night sets in you can still hear the horns of the nearby traffic.  Lazy palm trees sway in the warm subtropical breeze with a year round average temperature of 79F and a average yearly rainfall of 30.1 inches.  Cows wander through traffic with out a care or worry, and it is not much to hope to see a camel or two as you go about your day.  Tall skyscrapers overshadow the many slums that are scattered through out the never ending city that covers nearly 650km.  It is a city filled of culture and many religions and boasts of its fresh water pearls.  People are crowded together in this metropolis that houses over 4 million leaving it the 6th most populated city in its country.  They are a culture in love with dance and music and their movie actors are known as "Tollywood" stars.  It has become a major hub for information technology and so has earned an additional name of "Cyberabad". It is the capitol of its state, and some of the must see sights are the Charminar and Golconda Fort.

Birdie Baby around the world

Good morning Birdie Baby friends, or should i say good evening (since i am writing this from the other side of the world)!  Let me introduce myself, my name is Karen and i am a huge Birdie Baby Boutique fan.  I was blessed with a darling daughter who looks adorable in all of her BBB accessories!  If you have not experienced first hand any Birdie Baby accessories or blocks let me be the first to tell you the quality is amazing and the love and care that goes into every item is apparent, you won't be disappointed!  Katy is a truly talented and hard working mother and i find her to be an inspiration!

I am an American currently living overseas with my husband and our little girl.  I can't tell you where because it will ruin the game!  I have had an amazing opportunity to travel to some very cool places and have a few more on the calendar in the year to come.  I am planning on taking you "around the world" and am in the process of gathering all of my clues.  We are going to try to play a little game i like to call "where in the world is Birdie Baby Boutique."  The rules will be simple and i am sure that Birdie Baby will come up with a fun prize for the winner.

I wanted to take a moment to thank each & every one of you for being here and making Birdie Baby a smashing success in it's first year. It has far exceeded my expectations & I feel so very lucky. I truly do. In addition to getting the opportunity to spread my creations around the world (Yes, world! Canada to Thailand to the UK to Australia :) this year I have managed to make some incredible friends along the way. We opened up the Etsy shop the day before Valentine's Day & joined FB shortly thereafter--- I smell a celebration coming on in February!

I would love to hear back from you what you think of us. How are we doing? From customer service to shipping speed to quality we give 110%, but there is always room for improvement. I love nothing more than recognizing a name & knowing we must have done something right if you're back for more. Thanks in advance for any & all feedback you want to share!

I figured there is also no better time than the present to share a little more about US!

As many of you know there are two of us behind Birdie Baby... Myself, Katrina (Katy) Bjork & Carla Cook. We're both best friends & business partners... proof the two actually can mix, if you have the right ingredients.

I'll admit it, I'm type A... (although, I prefer to call it A+) I do much of the planning, marketing & "driving" for BBB. Carla is my much more laid back & go with the flow counterpart. We both "create" but tend to have a bit different styles--- I'm sure our regular followers can tell the difference between a Carla bow & a Katy bow.

Carla's beautiful contributions usually come in the form of bows, clips, satin flowers and most recently, hand stamped jewelry, which she has really taken an interest in & plans to expand on it in the new year!

Carla is a BUSY mom of 3 of the most adorable children I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I love those little ones like you all wouldn't believe!! Hey baby girl is the same age as my baby girl & her younger son is the same age as my little guy... and they all look up to her oldest son. What a clan we make when we're out shopping together, which is often ;)

Among other things I happen to be an obsessive crafter... My creations range everywhere from the cupcakes to flower headbands & everywhere in the middle. Most popularly, the blocks!! I am planning on counting how many sets I've made this year, but I can already tell you I've logged some SERIOUS hours on my Shopsmith. It's been a very busy year & it has flown by!

I'm a Texas transplant & have lived all over the country--- 11 states & working on relocating to the 12th. I'm married to an airline pilot so I have plenty of free time to create after the kids are in bed & it's just myself & my ideas. We have two little cuties, Kenneth & Delainey, ages 3 & 1 1/2. My family lives in Florida now, in the Tampa area so we are hoping to make the move to be closer to them. It will definitely be good for the kids (and us), since my husband commuted the Philadelphia now for work! (How many Florida friends do we have out there?!)

Delainey, our resident Queen Bee, is waking up from her nap now, so I'll wrap it up. I do look forward to hearing back from you folks. Even if you just have an idea you'd like to see come to life in 2011, we'd love to hear it!

Morning friends! Facebook has recently changed a lot of their guidelines, so to be safe I plan on posting all of our promotions & contests on our blog. So if you aren't a follower, you definitely should be.. and I promise to actually blog once in a while ;)
